the manifesto

Cold is not an absence. It is a presence you can wear.

antarctica is a study of the far south — the hour when the ice gives back the last of the light. Distilled as a memory of cold air over open water: bright at first, then impossibly quiet.

One composition. No seasons, no limited editions — a single scent, worn like weather.

the bottle

frosted glass, stone cap

Heavy frosted glass with a pale blue tint — the flacon reads as a fragment of the ice field it is named for. The cap is cut from a single piece of stone.

the extraction

cold maceration, six weeks

The iris and juniper are drawn out at near-freezing temperatures over six weeks. Slower than heat, and the reason the opening stays mineral instead of sweet.

the wear

it settles like a change in weather

Apply once. The head accord burns off within the hour; what remains is the quiet — musk and driftwood under cold air, for the rest of the day.
